I'm not able to type degree sign

degree symbol  This post is about writing degree symbol in LaTeX for angles as well as for temperature and location using different methods  I read in the DonleySonder book that you can add a degree symbol by holding down the “Alt” key and typing 248 It doesn't work for me

Hold down ALT and press 248 on the numeric keypad, then release ALT That will put in the degree symbol  File:Degree Size of this PNG preview of this SVG file: 20 × 40 pixels Other resolutions: 120 × 240 pixels 240 × 480 pixels
